The contributors have long desired a project devoted entirely to the US-led war in Afghanistan, and the events and issues that led to that war. Much material about the Afghan war, and the terrorist groups and organizations that are such key players in it, exists in other projects. Therefore, instead of creating a project and adding material directly written for it, this project is being put together (at least initially) with material either copied or moved from other projects. It's part of the larger reorganization of the Commons database, which will improve its efficiency and organizational structure.
