June 28, 1971: Ellsberg Surrenders, Charged with Theft, Conspiracy, and Espionage

He is indicted for theft, conspiracy, and espionage. [National Security Archives, 6/29/2001; Online Highways, 8/18/2007] Almost two years later, all the charges against Ellsberg will be dismissed because of government misconduct (see May 11, 1973).
